markets, finance, polemics

Everyone and their brother seems to be posting or linking Ellen Brown's piece about Foreclosuregate and the president's pocket veto, but few seem inclined to find her blog to further—linking the sites reposting her piece instead—in the great ranking wars between the various seekers after glory in Greater Blogistan, so I thought I'd just pop their bubble here, out of pure spite... right, left or in between... above or below.

I also bothered in order to help make it plain to my mother that there is plenty to worry about even when you have quintuple A credit. Not even the tin-plated Timex you get from the plutocrats for such excellence is insurance against their perfidy.

Anyway, Ellen Brown seems to have drawn the fire of a Libertarian capitalist who, fairly clearly, wishes her dead... metaphorically... or... not.... I thought it might be a nice idea if beside her extremely helpful piece from yesterday, you could hear her explaining herself to Max Keiser as counterpoint to the ravings of the capitalist. I mean, just a thought, man, just a thought.

Or, you could just head straight for her response....

And, last night I almost blew my stack about the lateness of the monthly unemployment figures, but decided to wait one more day for them to appear on the only site I trust to get them somewhere akin to actual for us. I was alerted to the update by a masterpiece of propaganda on the AP, the details of which you can do without and woe betide you if you bother with it at any of the "liberal" bastions of groupthink, but that IS your own lookout. I updated the graph in my sidebar should you need to get to that link at any time during the month.

  3. Michael Hudson was talking about it before THAT... but, well, financial advisor to Dennis Kucinich, you know... the guy who won the 2008 election in a blind poll, based solely on the issues....

    We're fucking psychotic.

And BB2, anything relating to FASCISM is NOT off topic on this blog.

However, I was thinking last night that it is just FUTILE to keep bellowing it here... or anywhere. So I went out a got myself 3.6 ounces of Cherry Garcia and am going to add BRANDY to my smoothie tonight, to combat the bleakness.

  4. And ARE you trying to scare me away from Canada? Mister North has promised me my own barn loft AND clawfoot tub! If they won't let me have a lawyer while they're interrogating me for being a degenerate alien, will they send me home or put me in the slammer until I squeal?

  9. Yep, a few trillion here and there for wall street and no real long term projects to put people back to work. There's a lot of happy talk until now from the wh and friends. They are warming up the great machine to come after the little people safety net. I love both of these articles in that there is never a mention of the war machine cutting back.

I don’t think this going to end well.

You both reminded me that I have Ice Scream in the freezer.

    Oh and we're doomed:)
