ReplyDeleteA local mall - Roseville Galleria - had a huge fire a while back, started by a disturbed young man it destroyed 50 some stores in the mall. The entire mall was shut down for a couple of weeks for cleanup and then the stores which weren't burned opened again.
Tonight there was to be a flash-mob - several local choirs hidden throughout the food court were to start standing up and singing.
Somehow word got out on the internet, the freeways and surface streets leading to the mall came to a complete halt. Masses of people crammed into the food court and the second floor walkways when suddenly a loud crack was heard.
The mall was evacuated and all but the large anchor stores have been shut down until they can do a complete structural assessment of the second floor level.
Sheesh!
I should have said, "It's a beautiful world, EXCEPT in the Sacramento area." I swear, I think I've driven into a chronsynclastic infundibulum somewhere on Interstate 80 every time I head in that direction.

ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing how many different Californias there are? Each county seems to have a completely different personality. There's always an overriding Californiatude to it, but we are all in such radically different spaces.
