depressing blog threads and ISP outages

[click image, audio, 20 minutes, mp3]

.
I lost heart reading people being casual and vague, trying, and failing, to wax erudite about slaughter, degradation, privations of extreme cruelty.... Liberals. So then when I pulled myself back together to do my thing, the ISP had tanked, and it has not been functioning at all well most of the day. I'm taking this opportunity to download onto my machine some of the things I want to listen to, because my ISP losing its mind means I won't get them cut off when it tanks if I have them on my hard drive, I can't count on it to stay up for five minutes. So this is my plan. If you right click on these links you will be able to download them and listen to them on your media player.

one last night hassling with the chat room

.
In a little over an hour you can find me at the image link.... I forgot this stint was only for three nights this time. A mercy on me really. Too much noise and things flashing on my screen....

I don't see Jane Hamsher's name up there for a guest interview tonight, and I'm gonna have to go with the word "pusillanimous" to describe the humble citizen journalist guest host... unless I pick "shill"....

Meanwhile, I'm going for a nice bracing walk!
.

Oh! And most excellent that I decided to take that tromp! The local store had my brandy on sale for eight bucks, four cheaper than usual, and, ho ho ho, I decided to make my coffee for tonight a LOGGERS MARTINI... which is coffee and cream and sugar and vanilla and brandy [or rum]... usually accomplished by putting a Starbucks frappuccino and booze into their morning coffee thermoses for the ride home from the woods... and, according to the moment, all ingredients for this martini are optional except the booze. I'm celebrating my shit-kicker roots in a big way this season!

And the MOON is up already and it looks full already and it's gorgee as heck already... and I haven't even gotten in a full sip of my logger martini yet.

oh crap, we'll have to LOOK at him while we're listening

I took a lot of ibuprofen, and if yer looking for me in the next three hours, just click this image.
.

[Ugh. My head didn't stop pounding until about 8:30! Had to take TWO 800mg ibuprofen. Must be China pumping more toxins across the sea to me. OR all this awfultude is just too much for me.]

if you want me

.
... me and Marley's ghost will be over at this asshole's joint, hosting the Malloy show chat for the next three hours.

[Yeesh, I'm too old for that stuff. Chat rooms are damn disorienting! I'm glad that's over. Only four more evenings to scramble myself left to go...]

oh, this has got to be gonna rock

I just ducked in to alert you. Peter B interviewing John Perkins....

I'm listening right this very now!

almost three quarters of an hour of glenn greenwald

Drives me nuts how little they ever let him get in on all the tv punditry shows, though they so frequently invite him on. So when Scott Horton gets him on Antiwar Radio, it's always such a relief for me.

struggling for radical analysis to overtake liberal complaint

Peter B interviews a sedated Tom Hayden and a still agonized Don Siegelman.

11 MONTHS IN, WE STILL HAVE ROVE'S JUSTICE DEPARTMENT.

the infection deception

They mentioned this piece on Peter B's latest podcast, which was also noteworthy for the tons of information about just how bad this bogus "health care reform" bill really is, so I recommend you take the hour and a half or so to listen to it, but I particularly wanted to highlight the part about this seriously strange treatment of the swine flu thing. That just gets curiouser and curiouser....

just outstanding

Now that Peter B has moved to podcasts, he's even better than the seriously great he was on the air. Here's an hour and fifteen minutes of simply excellent listening. The guy he's interviewing in the middle section, David DeGraw, is awesome. I'm getting so I have to check Peter's site for new podcasts every five minutes. PLEASE, if you have any nickels for philanthropy, I wish you'd help keep him happening.

bane of my existence guest hosting malloy tonight

Starting at 6pm, Pacific Time, you can find me hassling away with the chat room set up for listeners to distract each other from the show. This link will get you to the stream. Jump in. The water's fine and let me know if you're a teenager with nerves of steel who wants to play host on chats intermittently....

afraid of the cia

Brad is sitting in for Malloy again this week and last night he had Ray McGovern on in the first hour. Near the end of this hour-long mp3 you will hear him telling Brad... and us... that he thinks Obama is afraid of the CIA... JFK kind of afraid... and I think that's darn close to right... maybe dead bang on the nail head. I've mentioned before that I don't think he would be this sucky of a president if he were not fearing for his own life or for his family's. This is no excuse. Anyone who runs for president knows this is the danger, and we all know that oath presidents take does not qualify it with "unless I'm afraid" or "unless I'm threatened by mean people"....
"Let me just leave you with this thought," he said, "and that is that I think Panetta, and to a degree President Obama, are afraid --- I never thought I'd hear myself saying this --- I think they're afraid of the CIA."
It's pretty clear anyway that our government has been hostage to malign forces for a long time, and so I'm not surprised to hear this, but maybe it's time people started talking about it, because it's time to make it go away, dears, way past time to make it go away.

18 August 2009

this should be a fun listening experience

It starts at 7:30pm, Pacific, tonight, but I think you can get it on rerun even if you are late to catch this.

casual-yet-so-chic show thread hosting again

23 July 2009

going to get a casual-yet-so-chic haircut

... and then rush back for hosting the show thread for Brad as he fills in for Malloy tonight... and again tomorrow night.

6-9pm Pacific and 9-Midnight Eastern.

You can listen to the stream here....

I may be a few minutes late, depending on how long it takes to get my haircut, but I'd love it if you would come help me endure the station breaks and the Posh Tips for a Glam Life woman on crack. Take an aspirin and come listen to the exciting and informative guests we're lining up. I'm not sure who's coming on which night yet, but GLENN GREENWALD, who's still nailing it at Salon almost every day, is for sure going to be one of the guests and you don't want to miss that.

[Today's Green News Report is, as always, at the bottom of my sidebar.]

[Well, and while I'm reminding you of my sidebar gig, there are a bunch of new links lower down the sidebar too. I know some of you like to keep up with that action....]

26 June 2009

please join me tonight

Nine to midnight, Eastern and six to nine, Pacific....

This is the last night for a while Brad will be guest hosting for Mike Malloy and so the last night for a while I will be made to endure the endless commercial breaks and traffic reports and the HATED Posh Tips for a Glam Life. I'm almost dead. Please, please come help ease the pain of the last three hours of migrainetude. The conversation between these breaks is not trivial, and very enlightening. Just click our bastard uncle, Sam, above and it will take you to the means to tune in, turn on and drop out.
