Seems like a classic earthquake to me. Had one here... between Stinkin' and BoBo... the San Andreas... some years back that sounded like a bomb had gone off. One concussive kind of shake and that was it. Other times it feels like the earth has turned into waves and it isn't shaking but rising and falling. Those are the ones that sound like trains. Other times it's like a god rattling this marble in a jar, and usually don't make any noise except for the shit falling all around. Someone should probably show that guy pictures of the fissures and elevation shifts after the '06 quake on the San Andreas....
