Update: Greenwald at Salon on Podhoretz

A brief orientation....

His latest evil screed.

I want to know how it is okay to leave guys like this walking around free. Don't give me any claptrap about The Holocaust. Answer me! If Lieberman and Podhoretz and their ilk can come out with this stuff, with cameras and newspeople giving it air, why can't I get that kind of media attention for my urging Americans to The Second American Revolution? My cause is righteous and motivated by the wish for the well-being of my country and the world, while theirs... well... you tell me what is motivating them. Answer me also why this stuff is not roundly condemned, loudly condemned, from every corner of America. None of your glib excuses. This is not an opportunity to simply dis the bad guys, or to invoke the free speech canard. If it's okay for them to do this, then it's ok for me as a Native American to urge my tribal elders to get China to bomb D.C. for both encouraging and failing to prevent the destruction of my homeland, my planet... and to prevent further annihilation of it. I want a viable and rational explanation for it, and if you can't give me one, WHY haven't you stopped them? And if you can successfully convince me that you cannot stop them, then, goddammit, help me get the boys in Beijing interested in saving the world.

[As some of you may know, I posted about the Lieberman warmongering last week over at the place where we groove with a Pict. The great news of the Lieberman Party president's resignation over his warmongering had me pretty happy for at least a full three minutes. There was, of course, an antidote or two to my optimism still available here, but what I didn't know at the time was that Code Pink had amassed at his office after his warmongering on the Sunday shows to plead with him to stop being so counterproductive to the hopes for successful diplomacy. As can be heard from the horse's mouth right here (Counterpoint with Scott Harris, 2 hour radio show archive, and the interview is in the last half hour of the show), they were given the full treatment by his office. Sit ins and hunger strikes produced a production of staffers feigning dialog with the silly Code Pinkers who felt they were making headway while Lieberman was out reiterating his position on camera. The poor little rube talking to Scott Harris here wasn't even aware of the ugly ruse on Monday when she was telling him how receptive his office had turned out to be after their initial resistance to hearing them. Again, wanna donate to my fund drive for a trip to Beijing, or do something to shut up people like Lieberman and Podhoretz before they get their stinking world war?]
