Pass it on....

You know, while I was watching this I was agog that I didn't know, or remember McSenile's involvement in the Keating thing. Then I looked back, and, well, I as working my brains out. That was back when they'd give me a case, if I was lucky, six weeks before its trial date, and I worked till I dropped or we settled the fucker. I'd work eighteen- and twenty-six-hour shifts until I almost literally couldn't see any longer, and come back and do it again as soon as I woke up, for weeks, sometimes months, on end. The only good part was sometimes I had weeks where I could just do whatever the hell I felt like doing, before the whole nightmare would start back up again.

I always give myself shit for how little attention I paid to big hairy deals like the Iran/Contra travesty, and the Savings & Loan crisis. I feel embarrassed by it sometimes. Get apologetic about it even. But, shit! WHEN was I supposed to be able to pay the minute attention to these that would be required of a good citizen? I could maybe cut myself a little slack. Sure I could have sworn off that stuff earlier, but at least I DID swear off it. Most people don't.

In case anybody's wondering, I worked myself stupid in my youth.

I started this blog for friends who still do that stuff, give them a way to catch what's no longer even mentioned in any of the media that slides past their senses... and maybe a little fun... a kind of Life magazine of the new millennium....

I can swear off beating myself up for that stuff now.
