determined to mandate corporate profit

Laws do not apply to the élite. No limit on corporations to promote or to punish public officials at every level. Indefinite detention. Liberal use of tasers. Resource extractors writing environmental bills. Criminal bankers being bailed out of financial ruin instead of jail. Public admission of "jobless recovery". Discretionary spending freeze. No bid contracts. Massive privatization of the public trust. A never ceasing array of cheap political tricks.

I don't understand all the blathering about Democrats vs. Republicans. It's straight up fascism every way you turn and people are still blathering as if this is the other United States?

  1. I have asked myself that question a number of times. Either they were only in it for the flash mobs that got the Hitler-sized crowds at his campaign stops, or they figured electing him would be enough and went about their lives. Probably sorry now on both counts.

Much was made of this sort of disappointment ruining politics for a couple generations and maybe that was the plan. Easier to deal with a public not paying any attention, too whupped to try to fight, too stupid to know to fight, too disappointed to feel there's anything to fight for.
