Off the main topic, but relating to your second link...
ReplyDeleteKae trained all three of our dogs using methods outlined in the article. All are well mannered and key into her ever move. She actually growls at them when they are getting too pushy and her curling her lip often is enough of a signal to get the message across.
So few dog owners grok this. Drives me nuts. Can't tell you how many idiots I know whose dogs run their entire lives. Whenever I would housesit for some of them, they'd always ask me what the heck I did to their dogs. They marveled at how much better behaved they were after they'd been with me. Never lasted long, but it never took me more than a few days to mellow out these maniacal pooches.....
