Lew Rockwell interviewed Naomi Wolf—and sort of vice versa—shortly before the 2008 presidential election and I never heard it until today. It is SERIOUSLY important stuff.

One thing that pissed me off was when they got to the part about having kids and needing to keep one's head down on account of the kids. This HORSESHIT has been drilled into us over the course of decades—and since it's been repeated often enough even people this intelligent believe it—just as though no one with children ever participated in a war or a protest or a strike where there were very possibly lethal consequences. We do it FOR our kids. Whut? Have yer kids turned into yer reason to do this all-hat-and-no-cattle trip? Ain't that sweet. Nice work if you can get it.

IS THIS WHY IT'S OKAY WITH YOU THAT WE'RE SLAUGHTERING MOTHERS AND FATHERS AND CHILDREN AND AUNTS AND UNCLES AND COUSINS AND GRAMPAS AND GRAMMAS EVERY MOTHERFUCKING DAY?

I want to go postal on people who keep pleading that their jobs and families are more important than paying attention to actuality, let alone to DO anything about it. You ONLY have jobs and families because people went out and died to get them and keep them for you. And for those of you taking refuge in relief that the dying is being done by foreigners for our lifestyles, guess again. Let the stats smacking you in the face every day sink in.
