carnage in bankok today

.
Thai troops went postal on the protesters. Many, many dead. Journalists killed and injured. They shot up a Buddhist Temple. I did love looking at Bangkok's fanciest shopping mall in smoking ruins... but running around and shooting anyone and everyone is not what I call a national security measure. I'm going to give this guy a break and say I think that grin is the kind you get when you are SO upset you become hysterical. It happened to me once. Nobody could understand why I was laughing uncontrollably after accidentally breaking an ancient vase. I doubled over. I rolled on the floor. I was pounding on things. I was doing EVERYTHING possible to stop laughing, but it went on for about fifteen minutes before I regained some control of my muscles. So I'm going to try to understand this guy as being gripped with a horror so profound he only looks cheerful there behind his wall.

  1. I don't know 99...that looks like the grin of someone who has just unleashed his power on the defenseless. I applaud your being non-judgmental...I'm following your lead. But I do recognize the look.

  2. I hope you're wrong, or that maybe that's the kind of hysteria that grips guys who do that.

  3. I'd've been happier if Leonard Cohen would have cancelled, and that pig, Madona... but, yes, bravo Elvis.
