Seems to me some months ago, a year ago, maybe even reported by Horton, it was reported that Obama came out, outright, and asked the Prime Minister of Spain to stifle Garzón, the only judge on earth who dares hold us accountable for war crimes, and got the reply that he had no power to do that. A better explanation for this is that Obama managed to convince Zapatero to find it.
Don't tell me Horton is unaware of this... even if I can't remember yet for certain where I read it.
Jesus. Spineless! Why do I bother to bookmark anybody anymore!

The assumption that the horrors of Spain’s fascist past must remain forever covered up serves the interest of some political figures with a compromised past. But it is radically false and a grave contravention of the most fundamental precepts of justice.
ReplyDeleteBoy, does that ever ring true. Just replace "Spain" with USA!
Oh, no, wait, rereading it in your quote, here, I think he may have meant OUR political figures with a compromised past! So maybe he wasn't being COMPLETELY spineless, just so abstract as to barely be noticed.....
