it's alive

.

Maybe a jumbled mess, with the wrong brain, but alive and thinking of going to the grocery store. It ate a ham sandwich with hot mustard for lunch. It's had numerous cups of essence-of-Clint-Eastwood coffee, sans standing spoon, and has not barfed or dropped or beaten the dog. So.

It's alive.

  1. When ever I get sick, all I can think of is "what's it like to feel normal again". About three years ago I came down with a bad case of pneumonia, walked around with a towel over my head for three days lol.

    Glad your feelin' better 8)

  2. My but things have changed.

I remember as a child getting everything that went around. Various flu strains, measles, German measles - I scratched my back raw on the sand texture paint on the walls, mumps, chicken pox - which came back as shingles about ten years ago, whooping cough and scarlet fever - my sisters and I had a contest to see who had the highest fever - Carla won at 107.3.

I remember the doctor paying visits to the house, sometimes daily, and the quarantine signs on the front door.

  3. Well, dammit, I don't have as much experience with enjoying poor health as you do! And I can't even get NEAR you on the klutzitude scale. So this has been the worst possible ordeal! I know you never ever BARFED as much or as balletically as I did. NO ONE can have done that.

  4. Ballistically - Yes, balletically - no!

Actually, having got all those diseases behind me, I haven't had the flu in over ten years and about one cold per years is the extent of my suffering. I had a period for about ten years of yearly ear infections, but once I convinced Kaiser that I was going to shoot myself to end the pain, they got me to a specialist who revealed that it takes several months of treatment to cure an ear infection. Not the ear drop routine I had been receiving which left the infection dormant until the next year.
I spent three months going to the specialist, three times a week at first then tapering off to every two weeks by the end. He cleaned my ears each time with a little vacuum cleaner thingy and put in a powdered anti-biotic.
That was about 8 years ago, haven't had an ear infection since.

  5. I believe I should get some sort of Olympic Committee recognition for my food poisoning. I had NO idea my body could move with such precision and power without me. SPECTACULAR!

  6. For instance: those young things on the parallel bars? NOT as graceful.

  7. And regarding the klutzitude scale, when you're 6'6 - there is this gravity anomaly going on when the moon is anywhere above the horizon, constantly throwing things all out of whack!

Plus they just don't make things for my height.
My sister-in-law has to open her car's sunroof for me to ride in comfort, and there ain't no way in hell that I can drive a VW beetle.
