Easier to take in... about our export of terrorism... a shock, I know.

No one has to "marry" anyone else politically; no one has to embrace every tenet or belief that an anti-imperialist ally might hold. You simply have to say: "All of us, regardless of our other views, believe this truth to be self-evident: dismantling the empire will bring immediate and enormous benefits to our nation and to the world."

If in your travels you meet the Buddha, throw him through your tv set.

I've found that culture, however useful and important, is neither the foundation nor the ceiling of human experience, even if it is commonly used for walls.

I really consider President and Mrs. Mubarak to be friends of my family. So I hope to see him often here in Egypt and in the United States. —Hillary Clinton

OT...
ReplyDeleteThat bucket of water over the head would feel great right now!
Global yo-yoing in Sacramento again.
Last Friday night into Saturday morning - record low temperature for the day. Saturday high temperature of 80 degrees almost record cold.
Yesterday 106 degrees broke high record for the day and and for the month of August. Today 108 broke both the daily and the newly set monthly records.
Next Saturday forecast 79 degrees may be new record low.
Been over 80° here for three days in a row. Right after it being so chilly for so many days I was worried I'd have to turn on my heater.... I guess we should feel grateful for the cooler interludes because it seems other places are getting straight unbearable heat.
ReplyDeleteOur summer so far...
ReplyDeleteIn extreme cases, US refusal to cooperate with foreign government requests for
ReplyDeleteextradition might lead some governments to consider secretly extracting US citizens
suspected of foreign terrorism from US soil. Foreign intelligence operations on US soil
to neutralize or even assassinate individuals in the US deemed to be a threat are not
without precedent. Before the US entered World War II, British intelligence carried out
information operations against prominent US citizens deemed to be isolationists or
sympathetic to the Nazis. Some historians who have examined relevant archives even
suspect that British intelligence officers assassinated Nazi agents on US soil.
Isn't that exactly what we are doing in other countries?
The report isn't exactly what I was expecting. It still tilts to various "bad guy" organizations rather than to the terror exporting in which our government is complicit.
ReplyDeleteYes. They are beginning to succeed in tiring us enough to stop paying any attention.
ReplyDeleteAGAIN.
It weakens the limbs. I'm thinking of turning this blog into a fitness blog. It might do more good.
