We invite you to join us as we host 8 panel discussions over 2 days which will explore the important changes in our world since the attacks of 9/11 and the ever increasing need to understand its relevance.
Format — Each panelist will make a presentation following a brief topic intro by the moderator, who will then question and challenge each panel member. There will be Q&A for each panel with the studio and online audience.
PANEL 1 — 12:15pm – 2:15pm: The 4th Estate Fails In Its Duty And The Birth Of Alternative Media
It has often been said ‘The first casualty of war is truth’. What about truth in the never ending war on terror? This first panel will look at modern reporting, military censorship, taboos, and techniques often used by media to hide the truth. A look at spin and sell and the false legitimacy added by today’s mega networks. Panelists will also explore the use of revisionist news as events are entered into the history books. The panel will explore the birth of the citizen journalist movement, open publishing, and alternative broadcasting.

PANEL 2 — 2:30pm – 4:30pm: Truth and Consequences: ‘Resistance is Futile’, Or Is It?
A look at gains and disappointments of different social and political movements since 9-11. Four leaders of the anti-war and social justice movements speak on their experiences and the struggle to mobilize people against war, oppression, and government policies after 9-11. Panelists will look back at the Bush years and examine the current difficulty of mobilizing against the new friendly face of war under Barak Obama, as Bush’s policies remain unchanged. This panel will also look at how differing analysis between leftist scholars and independent researchers on the events and repercussions of Sept. 11th, 2001 have split the left.

A look at the Patriot Act and other laws, as well as new interpretations of the law which have eroded privacy and the ability to travel freely without fear of unlawful search and seizure. Panelists will recount how decisions, often politically motivated, have thwarted and hindered vital investigations which may have changed the course of history. This panel will also address the unregulated and expanded use and sharing of databases amongst newly formed private quasi-security agencies.

PANEL 5 — 11am – 1pm: Islamophobia and the Rise of Hate in the US
As the human rights of Muslims were sacrificed in wars outside the U.S.A., Muslims inside the U.S. began to experience overt attacks and persecution fueled by a misguided and generalized hate. In this panel, representatives of several major Muslim organizations discuss the rise of hate against their communities and its effects on all communities and on the world. After 9/11 many experienced what seemed to be a coordinated effort to legally justify racial profiling, police brutality and economic boycott. We’ll take a close look at state sponsored fear and media sanctioned hate. Was 9-11 the end of equality for Muslim citizens and the end of freedom to worship wherever and whenever you please if your not a Christian or a Jew? This panel will also look at the Ground Zero Islamic cultural center controversy.

After all the work you've done trying to dissuade people from talking about the truth about 9/11 as in your opinion it gets in the way of the war hysteria you're hyping up about the imminent imaginary U.S. attack on Iran? Have you finally come to your senses and realized that by playing Chicken Little regarding Iran you're only doing the work of the warmongers who are trying to scare the Iranians into backing away from their nuclear energy program? Because the warmongers are precisely the only ones who benefit from it when bloggers lend credence to the establishment's threats against Iran. Certainly the Iranian intelligence apparatus reads blogs to get a feel as to what Americans' opinions are on the matter and you're not doing them any favors by fixating on bullshit sabre rattling.

Seriously, no citizen who has found out the truth about 9/11 and realizes the extent to which they've been lied to by their government is going to ever again blindly accept what the people on t.v. are telling them is the "reason" for this or that policy. Education of the masses is the key to keeping them from endlessly being screwed in the ass by the elite and asking for seconds.
P.S.-- You're also not doing anyone but the elite any favors by constantly yammering on about space aliens. It is poison for anyone's credibility and I've tried to dissuade you from it before. Maybe it hasn't occurred to you yet that everybody in the world KNOWS there's something plenty fishy about 9/11. In the Giuliani add they have him describing how he was sitting at his desk when the towers fell and his desk was shaking - ya you frigin complicit moron - that was the explosions going off doing that!
And in the Inside 9/11 ad they show scenes and then fade to a black screen with text "America's Darkest Hour" then back to more scenes then again to black with a quote referencing America's dark hour and the name OSAMA BIN LADEN prominently displayed.

ReplyDeleteSeems I don't get to go until Wednesday or Thursday evening.
He's bedridden and not well able to swallow or speak, and Mom says the hospice people have put him on anti-depressants. Seems to me they could put him back on dopamine since it can't make him fall down from low blood pressure now. That would AT LEAST give him the ability to chew and swallow so he can die of a stroke instead of starving to death with morphine patches on him to alleviate the pain.
I can't tell you a TENTH of the horrifying shit going on with my family and the torture of my father they call "caregiving" and I am UTTERLY helpless to fix it.
It's really SO much of a bummer I find I can't even vent about it to people because when they hear the full story it upsets and frustrates them so badly they're speechless and visibly nearly as pained as I am.
This is one monster Zen lesson in progress. Yessir. Not for wimps.

When my sister-in-law was dying I stayed away because I was quite ill and didn't want to make her condition worse. In the end it really wouldn't have mattered as she went so quickly. I was left with a feeling of guilt for not being there to say goodbye and to support my brother-in-law.
The whole thing went so fast it was mind boggling. Diagnosed with lung cancer, she was gone within two weeks. Four hours before she passed the doctors said she was improving.
That was SUCH a mercy. She didn't have long to be frightened and sick and sad, and everyone who loved her didn't have long to spend most waking moments wondering if they would ever see her again.
ReplyDeleteSomeone really famous said that losing a parent is like driving through an invisible plate glass window, that you spend the rest of your life picking up the broken glass, each itty shard. I think losing anyone very close is like that.
I'm just so freaked because if there's anyone on earth who doesn't deserve these agonies, it's my poppa. AND HE'S STILL IN THERE, KNOWING EVERYTHING THAT'S HAPPENING TO HIM. It's a thousand times better when they are the kind of demented where they have no clue who they are or who anyone else is and don't even remember any suffering from one minute to the next. Then it's actually comforting, horrifying as it is, because at least you're sure the one you've loved all your life isn't in there experiencing all this agonizing shit.
My mother wants to lump him into that category and move on, and she will barely let me be around because I'm the one who KNOWS that's a crock of shit.
