  5. No. Thank you because I've been thinking I should post about the dead Gulf Stream problem and our weather, but hadn't mustered myself for it. Now Washington's done it, I can skate till the next time it starts making my blood boil.

  6. Well, they've been saying that all along, haven't they? Was this supposed to be some sort of certification, or did I miss something? A lot of people are starting to think it was done on purpose and so maybe that's why they're reiterating their failure thing?

  7. It was an "Official" announcement at the conclusion of an investigation. Lends credence to what we have deduced all along.

  8. Well, actually that article says it was the New York Times which did the quoted investigation, but I saw another yesterday announcing basically the same findings.

  9. This all goes to making it more credible that they did it on purpose, you know. They've done this shit in Alaska and Niger and Azerbaijan and the GOM now. After a while, you just can't go with the criminal negligence theory anymore.

I'm beginning to feel as though we are a bunch of microbes under a cosmic scope and whoever's looking through it is freaking out.

  10. Perhaps they are ready to take the slide and dip it in a sterilizing solution...

  11. Oh, man, this link snatched me back to 1989, doing online research for an oil refinery case, and stumbling across an EPA waiver for and "experimental" drilling muds disposal method. Drilling muds are far too toxic to store safely, so their brilliant solution was to release it into the Gulf in fits and blasts. I nearly stroked out on the spot. Maybe the government should just come out and say, "Relax, Gulf seafood has been lethal for DECADES, have a pickle."

  12. And, have I ever mentioned how badly I miss having LEXIS/NEXIS at my fingertips? OMG I don't even know why people go so crazy for FOIA docs when they probably can get everything they want off that database. Everything, everything, everything is in there... or WAS, back in prehistoric times.

  21. The guy sounds pretty damn convinced! Neil Kramer, who you might agree is pretty well-grounded, believes HEAVILY in this orbs/crop circles thing.
