good-bye al jazeera

.
Among the many other things it has come out that President Kennedy was doing and on the verge of doing, normalizing relations with Cuba was one of them. Today, we see al Jazeera reporting, in a fairly skeptical tone, a public appearance by Fidel. It is not the first one since his surgery. He has stood for photo ops with visiting dignitaries since then, and not the least of them was Hugo Chàvez. This is the second time in a few days they have provided me with not COMPLETE rubbish, but entirely too INCOMPLETE, and CAREFUL, information. They are 100% definitely NOT the al Jazeera we leapt to admire for the real information they put out so fearlessly.
I know, I know, a few well-placed slaughters of their personnel really can do wonders for a news organization... as it has for our NATION. This is NOT going to improve.
Welcome to hell.

I think by "public appearance" they mean something which is open to the public. The analog public. Photo ops don't count, no matter how many millions see him on their monitors.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm certain that's what they mean by it, but they wrote the piece as though there had been no real evidence of his continued status as a breathing human until now... and EVEN were equivocal about IF he'd appeared for real THIS time. The only thing on earth that could have made al Jazeera publish something like that is being owned/cowed by the space lizards. Plus, they completely left off the part about the ruckus in Oakland after that sick verdict. Plus, I've caught them softballing the living fuck out of ISRAEL and other deep offenses against OBJECTIVITY too many times already.
ReplyDeleteThey're officially on my list of untrustworthy sources now. Maybe still less so than others, but not reliable enough anymore.

ReplyDeleteI caught that too - they reported the protests were peaceful and never mentioned that Grant was handcuffed when he was slaughtered.
You want to see something *really* weird?

Very, very sad. I had been so happy for their existence and success. I've been noticing this for a while and it's getting ever more blatant. I don't know why I thought they would be strong enough against it when no one here is, but, well, I am the daughter of the tooth fairy and it gets me when I least expect it.
