Check out the pledge after you watch the video....

I hauled my frazzled ass off to town to make sure I had all the bare necessities—cigarettes and chill pills—oh, and some food—and returned to the karmic answer to my plea from overseas. I'm going to be one busy maniac for quite a while. I am going to try not to let it interfere with my blogging here, but I'm drying up yonder so I can have some productivity back. The buddhas of the ten directions have this startling way of affirming one when the mind finally lands on the right thing.

I don't know if I'm finally getting used to being senile or if all the hormones and vitamins have finally given me back my wild and crazy brain, but, whatever it is, I'm not wasting it.

Do you hear that?

I'm not wasting it.

[Whoa, and sheesh, and pfeh, this weather is NUTS. It's been springtime and the North Pole by turns about eight times here today, with one burst of rain that was SO cold I couldn't believe it wasn't snow. VERY weird. Is it going to keep being this calamitously outrageous until 2012? Or are we going to get off our asses?]

  1. The production values of the video and the website are extremely high.

It feels odd getting this sort of link from you.

But, then, it makes sense too.

    Stay warm and dry!

  2. I have some redneck friends. Tea Partiers. VERY flag wavingly patriotic. They are on all the listservers for the right and one or two of them cannot help forwarding to me everything he gets. He forwarded this one to me a long time ago, and then again last night.

I wouldn't be surprised if it were crafted specifically by pros to send the message out that rednecks are not racist and they stay informed. I happen to know that rednecks are not racist, in general, and that they DO stay informed, albeit MISINFORMED much of the time, because they tend to get their information from friends and family, at church, or on email chains full of jokes and parables, rather than scholarly works or international news outlets or the ways WE tend to inform ourselves.

I have had a great deal of impact just by shooting back links when I can find ones that will work, and they REALLY took to the part where you look up on Snopes to see if you've gotten bullshit or a true story, so the point of all this is: in general, these crackers on the right we think are not worth talking to, we think we have to dis and fight because they are racist morons, are our fellows, are in as much trouble as we are, are our natural allies.

I've said before that all my redneck friends voted for Obama because they want Single Payer, and they're madder'n wet hens about what they've gotten from him so far—as did we and as are we—so we should be joining them, raising the level of protest, and getting our country back from the fascists.
