Do I have to find a preteen to teach me the ropes? List for me all the gizmos and the proper modifications and precautions? I'm up for it.

  1. I'm pretty sure hackers don't use Macs. :)

  2. Well, that may make me the ultimately invulnerable hacker codger! Or... I could have a secret code room with some PC gizmos and put a firewall up with my marvelous Mac....

Or... maybe I should just write a novel about it.

  3. For just $80 bucks and some heavy duty brain supplements, I too can be a world-savior hacker! I'm practically there!

  4. Just blew my $80 on a tow truck - Meg's car broke a timing belt. Fortunately it's not one that destroys the engine when it breaks.

Guess what we're doing this afternoon!

Yup, she's going to be helping. Took shop class in High School and loves to help wrench on things.

Damn engine sits sideways so you have to take off the engine mount and some other crap just to remove the two screws holding on the cover to access the belt. Once you get the cover off it is a 2 minute fix, then another hour or so to put everything back together again. Sheesh! If the cover were held on with bolts instead of fitting over studs, you wouldn't have to take any of the other stuff off.

  5. They want you to change out the timing chains once every hunnert thousand miles to prevent them breaking and blowing up yer engine. The cost of replacing a timing chain should run you about $500.

Maybe you should look into trading yer cars in on HORSES.

  6. This one is a belt - $14.95 - non-interference engine doesn't get hurt when belt breaks. (Unlike older Hondas!) Supposed to change every 60,000. We bought car used, no idea how many miles this belt had on it.

  7. I might be getting a more workable car outta my poppa's life insurance....

    I'd rather have my poppa.
