time traveler puts us all at ease

Full of shit. I'm talking FULL of shit, but it's good middle of the night send you off into wild dreams kind of things in this blather.... Of course, I can only tell you this before I've finished listening to him as though he were telling the exact truth because Phil keeps interrupting me with his pervy jaguar vase thing. I give him some blast yer brains out metal and this is how he repays me.... :o)

We need to know if pre-Columbian art ever got THAT pervy....

Oh, lookee:

YANGON, Myanmar – Myanmar's military regime has freed pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi after the expiration of her latest detention period.

The release from house arrest Saturday of one of the world's most prominent political prisoners comes a week after elections that were swept by the pro-military party and decried by Western nations as a sham.

Suu Kyi, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, has come to symbolize democracy in a country ruled by the military since 1962.
She'll be back in her house in another seven minutes....

president of the world, barry poppins, comes out of the closet

Now maybe she can go back home to England and try to put her family back together while living out her days cashing in on her laureatude....

I'd be happy about this sudden turn of sense, except that we have always been the junta that was killing her compatriots left and right and keeping her muzzled in her house all these years, and it serves him now to just drop the pretense for a moment, give the order, and not have to worry that the peons will notice anything more than his masterful devotion to peace on earth.

No. Really. He can pull off a coup in Honduras and not catch any flak from anybody, chair U.N. meetings when, ahem, presidents don't DO that, catching but a whimper about it before the whimper drowned in a sea of silence, so, why the hell not just take this safe and vivid opportunity to make himself look sterling? I'll probably be the only person on earth to grouse about it at all.

oh, the hell, watch the video!

"Pirates", my grandmother's knickers. "Men", pfeh. They were hardly teenagers, and they were Burmese, not Thai. How in the world are they supposed to resist your cushioned white asses, who wouldn't come to help them even as they were marching in a hail of bullets to die in the streets so you'd know they needed you, bobbing in the shimmering waters off their starving coast? How? No matter how "nice" you are! How?

You make the world hell for so many others, this is the hell you get back.

i SO don't blame him!

I'm not the Secretary General of the United Nations because I would have said, "Fuck you! You posturing bastards and bitches! You didn't mind that action enough to DO anything about it when you had the capability, and I'm sick of running in there to make you guys look good while your corporations loot the Burmese resources and murder the Burmese people! Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you!"

But... do you spoze something good might happen if Ban said that?

22 November 2008

i wonder...

Would Russia consider doing something about the humanitarian crisis in Burma? I'm pretty sure the UN is so useless there because we are preventing it.... Would Russia helping the Burmese people cause us to defend the junta? Hmmmmmmm?

pfeh

They seem pretty determined to me, and... working with Burma on terror policies? Can't make this up.

04 June 2008

we're leaving

Something there cannot be seen... and should be... by everyone in the world....

snippets found while surfing

Taking snippets of images in pictures and prose, oft we are too proud of too much and ruin the beauty with the brittleness of self regard, and so I try sometimes to reinstate it... the beauty, that is.

If my town were in [Burma]... we would all of us be dead--the nice man at the Piggly Wiggly,
the morally indignant dentist, the sisters who own a cupcake shop, and everyone else here.

Of course, the woman who said it went on from there, too proud of herself, and ruined everything.

you thought i was going to settle down about this, didn't you?

Well, guess again! I'm freaking out!

Besides stuff already screamed about herein, there's this little shred from Edgar, and this nail-yer-eyeballs-to-the-rafters piece from The Environmentalist.

I'm not kidding around here when I say WE are the Burmese junta.

14 May 2008

WE are the burmese junta

Please tell me you grok this concept so I can settle down a little.

11 May 2008

some burmese are still comfortable

...but, pretty seriously, not many....

10 May 2008

you know, halliburton and standard oil are still there

Try to think of this also in connection to what I was saying about the Evo Morales news below... and about the voter registration drive below. The reason the word "change" works so well on voters is because of this shit. The despots in Burma get worse by the day, and WHO is gonna stop them?

06 May 2008

i don't trust that damn junta in burma

And it makes me mad when Americans refer to it as "Myanmar" because it's the bloody dictators who changed the country's name from Burma. That means the name is NOT changed unless you cede that illegal and murderous takeoverers have rights for that sort of thing.

With the Shock Doctrine thing in mind, how does the doubling and redoubling explosion of death toll numbers from the recent cyclones strike you? Personally, I'm becoming so inured to everyone always doing filthy skunkish underhanded murderating things, I can't even trust that it's the natural disaster killing off all these people. It could be true. Or it could be the latest excuse. How are we going to tell?

nobody fixed burma yet either

[click picture]

I wonder when we get tired of this stuff and fix it....

We decide our world and all we have to do is change our minds.
