real world use for our thought experimenting exercises

I give you this link because I think the guy is good at giving visuals that help people get an idea of what might actually be taking place while confronted with information we know is bogus. He seems to be downplaying it all, but not in the same way as most of the liars and instapundits. He seems to be addressing the seriousness of it. He discusses some of the mechanisms of the plutonium popping up in soil samples, and why monitors can't monitor it. He does NOT, so far as I have seen here yet, mention the Sacred MOX. He's used by the Maddow fascist on MSNBC, and that would be because he won't step over the line. So you MUST bear in mind the guy isn't telling the whole truth, is steering clear of it, or you will be fooled by him. The one good reason to risk tainting your understanding is the chance to enhance it, and if you've been practicing that special kind of attention I keep mentioning around here, maybe you can do this.

.

I mean, how long can you read shit like this:
Fukushima nuclear complex has been found to have radioactive water leaking into the sea from a cracked concrete pit.

In a discovery regulators said might explain the radioactive water that has hobbled efforts to quell Japan's nuclear crisis, Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) said the radiation in the pit at its No.2 reactor in Fukushima measured 1,000 millisieverts per hour.

"With radiation levels rising in the seawater near the plant, we have been trying to confirm the reason why, and in that context, this could be one source," said Hidehiko Nishiyama, deputy head of the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency.

He cautioned, however, "We can't really say for certain until we've studied the results."

TEPCO is preparing to pour concrete into the pit to stop the leak, added Nishiyama.
before you start tearing your hair out in clumps in advance of the radiation doing it for you? Monster quake? Cracked cement? Who knew?

Maybe that soft-pedaling engineer isn't mentioning there is no pool to cool at Unit 3 because that's obvious, or mentioning that the MOX in it has anything to do with the plutonium readings in the soil because that too is obvious, and maybe he's not mentioning the decimated reactor and cement under it because that, too, is obvious. That might be stuff he covered before I bothered to listen to some of his explaining on his website. It seems to me they've all been threatened with death if they speak of Unit 3. Say what you will about any other reactor, but mention Number 3 and you're a dead person.

The AP, however, the one that gets everyone by one means or another, says they've discovered a crack in the cement under Unit 4... three weeks into the meltdown. Oh, oh! No wonder all these half-assed measures have only let the problem worsen. The concrete is cracked! So, darn, all that work that would have been righteous has been foiled by this entirely unforeseeable nuance... that now must be studied.

I think, possibly, the power companies have fired all their scientists and engineers in favor of minimum wage workers, and the management of all of them couldn't add up to one brain between them. All that operates at any of them are the receivables departments and the stockholders' automatic deposits. Anyone who would know what to do has been paid not to even think it, and deaf, dumb and blind capitalism will out.

I remind you, or for those coming in new to it, some of us are practicing listening to people instead of just to our own opinions, instead of always listening only to what we already think. The way you approach listening to this is to drop your own notions and just listen to the guy as though you were an empty-headed dope and every word he's saying is gospel... while you're listening, and even maybe for an hour or so after you're done and contemplating what was said. After that you get to let your critical thinking and conditioned mind and personal preferences come back in and make whatever hash of it they might. The point of doing this is learning to give yourself a chance to hear and take in truth. You can do the same with reading, particularly with reading the inscrutable stuff from the ancients, but really anything, and especially difficult stuff. Just leave your own shit out of it. Just read it out loud to yourself for as many times as it takes to get the busybody in your head to just stop trying to make something of what has been said. THAT is when your true mind can hear what's being said. That's when you get out of jail and really begin seeing.

So. Just don't go thinking I'm some goony Tsarion acolyte or worshipper whose reason to blog is to further his stuff. That's just appallingly dense and a pretty lowlife take in general. Remember, our culture is being sunk to the depths of seaminess and it isn't only sleazebuckets who think that way anymore. This is ANOTHER pitfall of the orchestrated demise of your mental health, the suppression of our ability to think and see and act freely.

The good part about practicing this while listening, instead of reading, is how much easier it becomes to get the time for it. You can be getting caught up on your ironing or your car repairs or dusting or the dishes... whatever... while teaching yourself to clear the mental cloud and glimpse actual actuality. I like using Tsarion so much because I can tell that he has seen the crucial bit about "enlightenment" and so most of what he says, even when only speculation, will all be arcing toward our awakening.

.

An extremely lightly edited snippet from one of his posts:
Although the masters of the game may occasionally permit ordinary soft designer-rebelliousness, they are ever vigilant against the true hard form should it ever threaten to appear.

They are dangerous because there are so many of them. It is one thing to have a few nuts or dissidents. They can be dealt with, justly or otherwise, so that they do not pose a danger to the system. It is quite another situation when you have a true movement - millions of citizens believing something, particularly when the movement is made up of society’s average, successful citizens.
— William Colby (Late Director of CIA)

Where a majority are united by a common sentiment, and have an opportunity, the rights of the minor party become insecure. In a republican government the majority, if united, have always an opportunity. The only remedy is to enlarge the sphere" (that is, unite all the States under a federal government) "and thereby divide the community into so great a number of interests and parties that, in the first place, a majority will not be likely, at the same moment, to have a common interest separate from that of the whole, or of the minority; and, in the second place, that, in case they should have such an interest, they may not be so apt to unite in the pursuit of it.
— President James Madison (Elliot's Debates, Vol. 5)

That spirit of constructive resistance and rebellion was present in Mikhail Bakunin, William Blake, William Wallace, Che Guevara, and in the modern comedians Bill Hicks and Lenny Bruce. It was found in Giordano Bruno and Soren Kierkegaard, in Ezra Pound, Ayn Rand, Wilhelm Reich and Jiddu Krishnamurti. It is the holy daemon about to possess many people in the world, many of whom would not at this moment consider themselves rebels with any cause. There are many sleeping heretics in the world and they are soon to be awakened. However, there are certain rules that come with the package and certain laws that the rational rebel must acknowledge and master. Authentic rebels know, for instance, that it is pointless and hypocritical to strive against external tyranny unless one has first combated their own inner repressive instincts and drives. The true rebel is not merely a rager against the machine or a campus malcontent. He is a student of oppression, repression, and slavery. He allows the forces he despises and opposes to be his best tutors and he observes these forces closely, in order to become minutely aware of their nature and behavior. He extrapolates and examines the anatomy of tyranny and comes to know cruelty, sadism, violence, injustice, and destruction intimately. The rebels who are going to matter, and who will possess the rational power to effect proactive change, are those who become “walking encyclopedias” of evil. There is not a nuance of it that eludes them.

Having walked through Hades, to emerge again, the Servant of Truth is supremely qualified to heal and revive the lost and ignorant people of the world. His power lies in his healthy attitude to the challenges of life, in his Spirit of Rebellion and Contradiction. His authority is a result of his psychological and attitudinal freedom, for it is this inner condition that exalts a man — even one whose body is bound in chains.
For however far-fetched you find much that he declares outright is so, I don't think there's a way to call this man "a crank". He is utterly genuine and a superb source for anyone who wants to shake out his or her knotted and dusty brain.

You begin to see how stuff that has been injected into your consciousness—since before you even knew to try to protect it from filling with balderdash—can be flat wrong—horrifically easily—and you also notice that past, present and future can take on whole new more workable forms. You don't have to swallow a word Michael Tsarion says, and yet listening to him in this special thought experimenting way can revolutionize thinking itself... more!

But... obviously... only if you're someone who truly will do the work to wake up.

I am remembering everyone going crazy over Joseph Campbell's telling of the ancient legends. Truly. If you're too young to remember the hit he made on PBS, perhaps you won't be as impressed with how the scholarship has gotten quite more serious since his day... his follow your bliss day. Turns out it's a bit more difficult than that. Turns out all those archetypical tales were a bit more than that. I think it would be interesting to see if we can see it in his telling, knowing what we know now.... I'm hoping the sound quality on these isn't going to ruin the experiment....

07 January 2011

hey! you know what? BULLSHIT.

.

If you follow the link at the link, you will bump into a twenty-minute video introductory to a series of interviews on Peak Oil and a Changing Climate. This is sort of a mashup of the gang to be trotted out for us over the coming couple months. We will be hearing from Richard Heinberg, Nicole Foss, James Howard Kunstler, Dmitry Orlov, Noam Chomsky, Bill McKibben, Greg Palast, Thom Hartmann, Jean Laherrère, and Mike Ruppert... assuming we can muster the juju to put up with it, that is.

Listen. I'm SICK of progressives. I'm sick of their fucking video mashups and lectures and documentaries and endless bursts of "scholarship" that has a hard time standing up to real scrutiny and preaching to the choir and their everlasting half-hearted petition drives and their ever-lasting whole-hearted fund raising efforts... their goddam motor mouths... their frickin' esteemed positions in major universities and in the media, ALL of it. I mean, do NOT EVEN get me started on the comments appending all these.

DO they think we are so stupid as to not notice that they never DO anything to deserve our esteem? Our time? Our ears? Our eyeprints? Do they think they can just keep up with all this palaver for the rest of time... which, granted, isn't long...? I don't think a one of these people, except maybe Palast, could ever be induced to ACT, to LEAD, to MAKE this stuff get handled. This palaver has been coming at us without much in the way of letup for a decade or two, no? WHEN do they put it together that jawing in front of the masses doesn't CUT it? They expect to bask in their celebrity and punditry without any ACTUAL risk, even though they welcome any amount of PERCEIVED risk. Inflates the esteem quotient considerably... which keeps the donations trickling in.

WHY would all the air have gone out of our big push to clean up our act? BECAUSE these fuckers who never shut up never PUT up either. BECAUSE they play games and pile on bogus "science" to try to "prove" that which cannot be proven, but is felt by everyone, is KNOWN to everyone to be true. We're turning our planet into a sewer and it can't support us or most living things much longer if we don't drastically change our ways.

Peak oil is a big so what. It might NEVER actually peak because there very well may be limitless supplies of abiotic oil, but that is moot, moot, moot, moot, moot, because it's FILTHY shit and has to stop. All these "scientists" who have to play around with nothing-close-to-the-truth because the REAL physics must remain IGNORED by the mainstream would better serve by taking long walks off short piers. We. Don't. Need. Oil.

We. Do. Need. To. Clean. Up. The. Filth. And. Squalor. And. Quit. Extinctifying. Living. Things.

NOT rhetorically. The pen is no longer mightier than the sword. The mouth is no substitute for the feet. People VOTE with their feet and if you are watching the feet of this crowd—again, with the possible exception of Palast—you will find them no further away from their desks than yours are right now.

THIS DOES NOT—AND WILL NEVER—FAZE ACTUALITY.

the answer to life, the universe and everything is not 42

.

As I was getting in bed last evening, at an hour reserved for persons of deep antiquity, I came across this and snapped it on for the chance that I might not do the sleeping I had devised for myself. I stayed awake for enough of it for the thought of posting it for you while there was more weekend left to cross my mind, but not long enough to accomplish it. I'm downloading it to my computer now, that I might thought experiment my way to enlightenment on it. It seems deeply silly, dealing with extremely consequential themes, presenting a determined wish for humanity to make that vital phase shift we all know is mandatory, and honestly is so absurd as to seem like a medicine show of the third millennium. That doesn't mean there isn't quite a lot of value to be gained from spending two hours on it, but it only doesn't mean that if you are willing to attend to this stuff without recreating your air identity anew on it. So, if yer digging the opportunities to reärrange the deck chairs on your Titanic, this is a sterling opportunity....

a know-it-all on the know-it-alls

.

We're heavy to Out There tonight. Of necessity, no? Something needs to drag you back to the creative from this immortal consensus trance. It's sooooo important. Thought experimenting as close to full time as possible has GOT to be the way....

Do I begin to sound frantic?

.

Actually, I must be frantic because I forgot an important aspect of this post. John Lash is an idiot, okay? He seems to know lots of nuts and bolts of this stuff, but he is CLUELESS, and if this is not immediately apparent to you, you should listen for his intense concentration on braggadocio. The guy is completely not to be trusted in terms of awakening, but he's talking about stuff that can give you jumping off points for where you might want to head in that direction.

I repeat, John Lash is not even in the same cosmos as enlightenment, gnostic or otherwise. Someone ego-tripping this hard is blinking neon charlatan, charlatan, charlatan. If yer interested in this door, go to Neil Kramer.

I've said it before, but how, honestly, would you remember that if I don't make it apparent when I bring him back up? Sorry.

.

Truly, it isn't a waste of time to endure this as long as you are clear on his not being a teacher. He makes points like ego work being like trying to read the inscription on a grave stone with a glare on it so bright that the words are burnt out. It's really at least that hard to face yourself down. It just drives me nuts that he can't even squeeze out a bit on ego death, ego taming, ego evaporating, without immediately undoing it with a big slime of me, me, me....

Anyone who has to tell you at all that he's a teacher, let alone over and over and over, is NOT a teacher.

Take that to the bank.

YANGON, Myanmar – Myanmar's military regime has freed pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi after the expiration of her latest detention period.

The release from house arrest Saturday of one of the world's most prominent political prisoners comes a week after elections that were swept by the pro-military party and decried by Western nations as a sham.

Suu Kyi, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, has come to symbolize democracy in a country ruled by the military since 1962.
She'll be back in her house in another seven minutes....

I don't know about you, but I have been noting the EMPTINESS and ILLUSION and utter void of intimacy in all these romances/marriages, big time. I mean, I know they're only movies, stories, and it's hard to fill that stuff in over the course of one lousy movie, but, sheesh... do you think people's relationships are this shallow BECAUSE relationships are modeled to them this way? I was just talking to my second cousin about this sort of thing, about how kids are blocked away from the real by their parents, because it's some notion of "good parenting"... and so far, I'm getting a pretty good clue about what has been the matter with a lot of people I've known....
